On 30 September 2021, the European Commission sent to its Member States the draft on the extension until 30 June 2022 of the application of the Temporary Framework on State aid, justified by reason of the Covid outbreak.

After such an extension, which is expected to be the last one in this context, the full legal framework previously in force should be progressively applied.

At the beginning of 2021, the Temporary Framework had already been subject to an extension, together with an increase of the ceilings of the aid granted.

Such an extension would be of great benefit to the Member States, so to allow them, for a limited period of time, to enact investment measures supporting business solvency, which was put under huge strain by the pandemics.
